Why Volunteer?

Be Part of the Solution

Our country and our communities are in the midst of an affordable housing crisis.  Individual and families need long term solutions. The home they build alongside volunteers is their key to a better tomorrow, a solid foundation on which to build their future.  With your help we are able to keep the homes we build affordable for the families who buy them. There are numerous ways you can get involved. Everything volunteers do-- from working on build sites, to serving on committees or making lunches-- make it possible to serve our neighbors who are in need of safe, decent, affordable housing. We are thankful to all who share their time and talents to love our neighbors through shelter!

Be Part of a Community

Beyond building homes, we also build communities. Every Habitat for Humanity home that has ever been built happened because individuals, churches, schools, businesses, civic organizations, local government, and partner families came together to make someone’s dream of owning a home a reality. If you are interested in meeting new people, making new friends, and working with others to accomplish a common goal, then volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is for you.

Great Team Building Experience

Are you a business owner or a manager looking for a team building experience for your employees? Are you part of an athletic team, civic organization, Sunday school, or other group looking for a way to bring your group closer together? If so, then Habitat is the place for you! Groups of volunteers can work on our construction site, or put on fundraisers. All of these experiences will bring group members together as they work as one towards the goal of bettering the communities we call home.

Great Learning Opportunity

In addition to being a great place to meet new people and have fun, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity can help you learn new skills. Individuals who volunteer on our construction sites quickly learn new construction skills which can help one obtain a job in the construction industry.  Every volunteer opportunity with Habitat is also an opportunity for your own self-improvement.

Interested in volunteering?

There are numerous ways you can help. We are often looking for volunteers to work on build sites, assist with office work, and prepare lunches for builds, as well as other responsibilities and tasks.

If you would like to get involved, check out the links below for more information.  Then fill out the online Register to Volunteer form and our volunteer coordinator will contact you soon. Thank you, and we look forward to partnering together to accomplish the goal of a world where everyone has a decent place to live!
